How To Play Killer

Guide to Playing Killer Darts

Feeling competitive? Tired of just racking up points in a standard 301 or 501 game? Then it’s time to unleash your inner assassin with the thrilling and often cutthroat dart game: Killer.
Killer is a fantastic game for a group of players (typically 3 or more) and injects a healthy dose of strategy, and risk into your dart night. Here’s a breakdown of how to play this exciting game:

The Setup: Use a standard dartboard. Have 3 or more players.

  • Determining Numbers: This is where the fun (and potential for early elimination) begins! Each player throws one dart at the board with their non-dominant hand. The segment that the dart lands in becomes that player’s number. If a dart lands in the bullseye (outer or inner), the player usually throws again until they hit a numbered segment. Important Note: Some variations allow the bullseye to be a number, so agree on this beforehand.
  • Keeping Score: You’ll need a whiteboard or scorecard to track each player’s status. Next to each player’s name, write down their assigned number.
  • The Objective: Become the Last One Standing
  • The goal of Killer is simple: be the last player with at least one “life” remaining. You eliminate other players by “killing” them (more on that below) while protecting your own lives.
